From Tiny Dancer to Trusted Assistant

Darcey first danced with Olive when she was just four years old.

Now she assists some of our younger classes and holiday workshops, helping children across our different settings feel part of the same OKD community.

Watching that journey has been incredibly special.

Because if you’ve ever wondered what dance can give a child beyond steps and technique - Darcey is the answer.

Over the years, she has developed:

  • Confidence

  • Leadership

  • Reliability

  • Initiative

  • A genuine care for younger children

She helps little ones settle. Encourages them when they’re unsure. Offers that calm “older sibling” presence that makes such a difference.

I was once a young assistant at the dance school I grew up in, and I remember how much those early responsibilities shaped me.

Seeing that same growth happen right here in Leyton feels full-circle.

Dance education isn’t just about producing strong dancers. It’s about growing capable, kind young people.

If you’d like your child to grow not just as a dancer but as a confident young person, you can explore our classes and community here.
