Joyful, supportive dance classes for toddlers to teens
Olive Kane Dance (OKD) offers dance classes, workshops and school partnerships for children and young people across Leyton and East London.
We combine high-quality teaching with care, inclusion, and a strong sense of community, supporting children to grow in confidence, skill, and self-belief at every stage.
OKD was founded by dance educator and arts professional Olive Kane, and is rooted in Waltham Forest: an area full of young families, culture and community life. While we’re proudly local, our approach is shaped by professional dance practice and a belief that children deserve teaching that is high quality and forward thinking.
Our approach is thoughtful, child-centred, and ambitious, without pressure or competition. We believe children can do things they don’t yet know are possible, when they are taught well, supported properly, and encouraged to enjoy the process.

OKD was founded in 2023 by Olive Kane during maternity leave, following more than 15 years working across the professional dance and arts sector.
At OKD, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, seen and supported, and when teaching is clear, consistent and well-planned.
Children are encouraged to try, practise, make mistakes and keep going, with teachers who know when to push gently and when to step back.
