For the “Shy” Ones
Not every child rushes to the front.
Some take their time - watching, listening, figuring things out quietly first.
That was me too.
I wasn’t shy because I had nothing to say. I just needed space to feel safe before I could share it.
Dance was the one place I could join in without having to be loud straight away.
That’s exactly what we try to create at Olive Kane Dance.
Our teachers notice the quiet ones.
We give them time to settle.
Space to build trust.
Gentle encouragement to take up their own kind of space, in their own time.
Because confidence doesn’t always look like being first or shouting the loudest.
Sometimes it’s:
A hand up in the air.
A smile mid-class.
That moment they finally volunteer to dance in front of someone else.
Our ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop classes in Leyton are designed to support every temperament.
If your child would benefit from a dance space that honours quiet confidence as much as bold energy, you can explore our ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop classes here.
